NYX cosemtics comes to ASOS

To say I'm an ASOS addict is an understatement - seriously, I'm on first name terms with my delivery man (shout out to Robert!) and their New in section is my second home.

So when I noticed that ASOS had added NYX cosmetics to their beauty offerings, I was dying to give it a go. NYX isn't a brand we hear a lot about in the UK, but thanks to my beauty blogger obsession I'd already heard great things about their lip products and couldn't wait to try them for myself (debit card at the ready!).

There were plenty of colours to choose, from Kylie Jenner nudes to deep berry and purple tones. After much deliberation and online swatching I finally settled for three of the NYX soft matte lip creams in Ibiza, Milan and San Paolo, and two of the NYX butter glosses in the shades Crème Brulee and Vanilla Cream Pie - and my debit card needn't have worried with the whole thing coming in at just under £30 (the price of one of Mac's new liquid lipsticks!).

Matte lip creams are everywhere at the moment with everyone from Kylie Jenner to Kat Von D getting in on the action, but it can be tricky to find a good one with most formulas proving to be too drying or heavy on the lips. So, how do NYX's matte offerings compare?

The texture and finish of these lip creams are truly on point. They're neither cakey nor drying and with the right lip balm underneath you'll stay perfect all day. And they don't budge! Sip your cappuccino in peace because your lipstick isn't going anywhere. In fact the hardest part will be taking it off at the end of the day, but with a bit of trusty make up remover you'll be good to go!

And now let's talk gloss! The formula of these glosses makes them really easy to apply, so they're perfect for minimal make up days. But they are slightly sticky in consistency, so if you're braving the great British weather you might want to think ahead (damn you Storm Imogen!).

Milan, Ibiza and Vanilla Cream Pie

The applicator of both these products is just your usual doe foot so it doesn't lend itself to bumpy train or bus application (unless you've got nerves of steel of course), but going in with a little bit of lip liner first will help as a rough guide.

Oh, and they both smell divine - kind of like dipping your head into a big bag of Pick'n'Mix. Life goals...
