Making a case for the summer dress

There's nothing more satisfying than finding the perfect summer dress. Simple yet chic, low maintenance yet polished. Pick the right piece and you're set for the season; sailing from day to night; beach to bar; office to cocktails.

But finding the perfect fit can often be a challenge with so many cuts, colours and designs to choose from. Luckily this year I've done the leg work for you. Here are three of my favourite summer picks...

The shirt dress: This work appropriate style is the grown up face of summer. If you're looking for something classic, yet stylish, this white shirt dress from French Connection is my top pick. It's simple yet statement.
The denim dress: I've been living in denim dresses since I was five, They're my favourite summer style. I usually go for dark inky blues, but this white denim dress from Free People feels like the perfect summer update.

The shift dress: Shift dresses are always great thrower-onners. They're comfortable, flattering and almost never need ironing. In these pictures I'm wearing my favourite vintage shift dress from Milk It at ASOS.

What's your favourite summer style?
