It’s safe to say May’s been a busy month. There have been
days where I’ve felt like my feet have barely touched the ground.
The first two weeks were spent living out of suitcases as I
travelled from Liverpool to Portugal and back again, before heading straight to
London. I then came home to some really exciting news which has had me making
endless plans and to do lists as I prepare to move to London at the end of
June. I know, ahhh.
As I’m writing this, it’s Bank Holiday Monday. I’ve managed
to steal a couple of hours out of the day to catch up on myself. I’m sure there’s
a million things I should be doing, but I thought I’d grab a cuppa and look back
on some of the highlights from the past month. Here goes…
A postcard from Portugal
I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that I’ve been on
holiday this month. So much has happened in the weeks since I’ve been back that
it’s hard to believe I began this month sitting on a beach with an ice lolly in
my hand…
Gathering up my highlights from the past month has made me
stop for a second and look back on what a special time I had. It was lovely to
be able to sign off for a couple of days and just relax with some of my favourite
people. So much so, that I’m already dreaming of my next holiday in the sun.
Some new inspiration
Speaking of holidays,
it was during a trip to the beach that I discovered my new favourite podcast. I’m
completely obsessed with The Emma Guns show. She’s a beauty journalist
who interviews lots of influential and completely
inspirational women from across the beauty industry. She’s spoken to
everyone from Sali Hughes to Caroline Hirons and Sam and Nic from Pixiwoo.
My favourite episode
has to be Alessanda Steinherr’s. She’s such an amazing lady with some really
interesting views on hard work and powering through. Before listening to
this episode I was feeling a bit overwhelmed. I felt like I had a million
things to achieve in a small space of time and I wasn’t sure where to start. Her
tips for pushing through these kinds of moments and coming out on top really
helped me. I’d definitely recommend giving it a listen. I’ve already played it
three times this month *whoops*…
A new skincare discovery
As I’ve mentioned
there’s been a lot going on this month, including some busy days and really
late nights. To help combat any tired eyes and under circles, I’ve been turning
to The Ordinary’s Caffeine Solution 5 %. This is a brand that’s been talked about quite a lot recently, and I have to
say I’ve been really impressed. It’s left my under eyes feeling really smooth and bright.
I'm moving to London
By the time you read this, I’ll have broken the news to my
family and friends that I’m moving to London. I told you it’s been a busy month…
Ben has already moved to start his new job and I’ll be
joining him at the end of June to start my own exciting career. It all feels really
sudden, but in the best way possible. I’m so excited!
So excited, that I’ve already made about six different
mood boards on Pintrest as I lust after all of the home décor and soft
furnishings.
I’ll be sharing more on my experiences of moving to London
and finding my way in the big city over the next couple of weeks, so watch this
space.
