The #sundayfacial

It's 8:30pm on Sunday night. I've just got in from a busy day in town.

There are a hundred things I'd rather be doing right now than cleansing my face or cracking out the Bioderma - namely crawling into bed and binge watching an entire five seasons of Made in Chelsea.

But before I batten down the hatches and join Binky, Jamie and crew for a night in Cannes (or whatever sunny isle they're off to this week), there's just one thing left to do - this week's #sundayfacial.

Ever since following Alex Steinherr on Instagram a couple of months ago, I've been inspired by her #sundayfacial routine (if you don't follow her yet, you can find her @alexsteinherr). Her skincare recommendations are spot on - especially if you're looking for niche products and firm all rounders.

After a week of late nights, sweaty gym sessions and air pollution, it makes perfect sense. So, I've been taking a leaf from Alex's book and indulging in my very own #sundayfacial. Here's this week's top picks...

1. When it comes to cleansing, I like to keep things simple. My skin tends to be quite sensitive, so I need a formula that's going to cleanse away any dirt or grime, without leaving my skin feeling dry or irritated. For me, Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser ticks all the boxes.

2. Elemis' Herbal Lavender Repair Mask has always been a firm favourite of mine. I tend to use it once a week to soothe any redness or congestion in my skin.

3.  Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate will always be my go-to serum. It smells amazing; is packed with essential oils and always leaves my skin feeling super plump and glowy.

4. I've always struggled to find a moisturiser that works for my skin but since discovering Clinique's Dramatically Different Lotion+ last year I haven't looked back. It's super light, so can be worn under make-up or applied nightly for an extra hit of hydration.
